    Question Recommendation/help, new winch needed

    G'day guys, girls,,
Have been given the go-ahead to get a new Bullbar/winch for the 110, (2011MY) . And before you say, "go search",, I have, and theres actually not much condensed info I can find. Punch in the word winch, and theres like 20 pages of threads,,,

At first I thought I would build one, and use my High mount thats on the D1, but to do it right, its going to be rather time consuming, and also getting bits cut and bent up so I can weld it up could prove to be a hassle too.

So, our choices at present are either the ARB, or the TJM with a new Low mount with Plasma rope on it.
So, my first question is, can a couple of you please put up a "front-on" pic of both units fitted so SWMBO can have a good squizz?
Secondly, what are peoples thoughts on which winches are good, ie; sturdy, strong and good value for money, ease of operation etc. I dont want to buy the most expensive, because it should be the best, or the cheapest, because I should save my money. Just good solid advice on what you guys use.

    Cheers Chops

Never had a problem with my Warn XD9000i, but then i didn't pay a cent for it, just sits on the front and i use it occaisionally, more often to pull others out haha, an aldi winch would do the same job, maybe not as fast, if it was my money i'd have the Aldi winch but the Warn was under the house with a D1 nudge bar to suit it.

May i ask why the slow mount Get a high mount bar put a 6hp motor on the high mount winch and you will not look back

Outcast i think now make bars for the Deefers might also suit the Puma and they will mod it to suit a high mount , Im sure you will find Outcast advertise in the vendor section

Go down to Tigerz11 on Canterbury Rd in Bayswater (or check out their web site). They have some really good stuff. I like the 12,000lb'er that winches in and out (under full load) and is even rated to lift.

Their prices are very fair AND the guys down there are straight up and stand behind their product with good warranties.

I have not heard a bad thing about Tigerz stuff yet. In saying that, I have also heard good stuff about the Aldi ones if you go through the pre-fit rebuild process.

about $20k - there are a lot of bits you cant see like 2" OME suspension with cranked trailing arms and double cardon front prop shaft, LR tank, drawers with cargo barrier centre divider and top shelf, water tank, diff lock, quad battery set up, Scheel seats, Mulgo ex-box and rear bumper steps, wheel carrier, Re-tune, gauges (EGT, boost, oil) Scan gauge, sat nav, sat phone, and lots more down to little things like a programmable intermittent wiper relay for $40 from a BMW!

    Thanks guys for the responces,,
Thats one nice rig Marty, can you explain yourself a bit on the BMW switch please, thats something I'd like to do too,,

I'm not going to get a Warn, as I believe they are just too expensive. Dont get me wrong, they are good, I've had my High mount for about 20 years now. I've done 4 straight line pulls with no break, and it never even looked like faultering.
The Tigerz is one I have had a quick look at, and the worst thing was I was over that way on Saturday,, I could have had a real look,,
Has anyone heard of the Runva range of winches, I'm considering one of these. They look sturdy enough.

I've had a look at the new Outcast bars, quite like them too. Yes they can be modified, but it will be at extra expence I'm sure, and then I have to get it down here. I got a quote to get another bar sent down here, and its around $150,, too much.

    Cheers Chops
