Are they also a morse chain design Diana?, there must be another uni in the rear tailshaft so it can be mounted to the chassis to clear the axle aswell. Certainly seems a lot simpler, i like your idea of having linked air bags to load share.

looking at the completed project pic and all i can think of is big trouble steering from the front as it will and to go straight almost like a half track, i asked at a history day near me once about how you steer a half track with the supplied weird steering wheel? you use braking similar to a dozer!
I still think the rear most axle, steering, would be under alot more stress than the front. Not only by nature of the load on rear, but look at the distance from front axle to center of axle 2 and 3 and then look at the distance of rear most axle to same center point of 2 and 3......
oh, and I still think this vehicle a total waste of time. JMO
Which halftrack were you looking at? :confused: The WWII M2 and M3 White half-tracks and the M3E2 or M5 International Harvester half-tracks all have regular steering wheels (with armstrong power steering) and a single brake pedal?Quote:

AAVA at Kapooka 2010 The halftrack in the images is an M5 International Harvester.
i cant remember what model halftrack it was apart from it being WW2 german possibly and it was on display at "history alive" "Fort Lytton" at the mouth of the Brisbane river.
just checked the pics from the day and bugger i didnt get i photo of it :o
