But hopefully without the messy bedroom & the Doof doof doof of the stereo.:D
LOL, we can only hope!!!
I think its a shame to split off and lose the accumulated years of wisdom already shared. I hope the remlr survives but I doubt I'll bother joining as ex mil isn't my priority. Not that I ever posted anything of worth if CC's whinge is anything to go by.
Mark,
I don't recall you attacking me for starting the MVCA or SLOw. Wondering why it is needed. Interfering everytime I tried to run a trip in your club. Trying to profit from your members. Getting upset because I dared asked a question about what should be open and public. Having to stop you from attempting to take over a group then later being accepted into the fold as if it never happened. Can't explain where donations have gone. Buying an item and leaving it to rot for 30 years, just so no-one else can have it and restore it. Grasping on to the head of an organisation for far too long. Big noting about purchases that never happen. Buying an item to attempt to give you credibility but never do anything to, or with. Swindle people out of gear to sell on consignment. Help people obtain items then expect a fee. Do nothing positive yourself, yet undermine others efforts.
I am quite used to and happy with being unpopular because I have ethics, principles and a grasp of right and wrong. Typically the masses get to pay for the actions of the few spineless fence sitting Chameleons. It is all too easy to create a persona on a computer, especially when your audience is typically hundreds of K's away. Just ask any internet predator.
My post was never directed at the 99% of people on Remlr or AULRO. Just the faceless few who as I said will know who they are.
So now you can all get upset because I said something unpopular about something you hold dear. You know only what you are wanted to know typically.
REMLR.Com is great. It is there on the back of many generations of people's work, notably Richard Green, Kevin Hicks and through the support of Dave Blears for countless years, and many many others from the early years long passed. It has evolved, most rapidly recently, and as stated, you only get to see the tip of the iceberg, so I don't expect all to understand what I am on about.
Enjoy.
CC
Thanks CC, if all that really does go on in the background of REMLR, then i am glad i am not in the members area. Do realise that to those not in the know your post came across as a whinge with a broad target, now that you have narrowed it down with context it makes more sense.
For the record my IIa has been on show for the Police for 3 days and ferried girl guides around for a weekend in the four weeks since rego!
Wow. This did happen rather quickly. I had my 101 thread moved to the REMLR section after I was told that it may get more interest in that section. To be honest, I'm not a huge military nut and wont be joining the REMLR forum just yet, but I hope I can move my thread back to the 101 section and keep it AULRO. I'm a paid member of this forum so would rather keep my build going on here.
*Edit. Just to qualify the above, I have no issue with REMLR forming its own site, but my passion is land rovers first, it just happens to be that my favourite one was designed for the military. As others have stated, I hope the old threads are not lost as there were so much useful tech and restoration info. I fully intend on continuing my 101 build thread but I'd hate to have to start a new one from scratch.
Hey Inc.,
Howzabout renaming the relevant section to "military archive" or similar and make it read only.
Best of luck with it all but its just another forum that i dont have time to spend reading so i wont be coming over. I will be getting my landy fix here in the series one area. :p:p
Got to say, being a military Landrover enthusiast, I'll support the new forum.
Mind you, not at the expense of AULRO. I can support both.
