So no more hey?![]()
[QUOTE=Col.Coleman;1687129]Oh No. No Remlr Forum. What will all the Keyboard collectors do?
Australia's version of War and Peace happened over the weekend, and apart form the 3 in my group who displayed, and 1 member who came and said hello, Not 1 single Remlr member was spotted at this show over the weekend, let alone dragging thier passion out to show the public what it is all about.
I personally am over all of those on here who like to gob off online, but NEVER take out what they have, nor support anything other than what they think will give themselves some sort of percieved elevated status so they can feel good about themselves.
REMLR.com is great. A wealth of information built over many years by alot of people. Generally, the forum is great, as a place to help spread that information and bring new people to the fold. It is a priviledge that AULRO hosts it and it is not stuck on the REMLR site in reletive obscurity.
But in alot of ways, I am glad it is gone. People might actually go out to their shed, or a show, instead of sitting infront of a screen talking up how good they are or undermining other people's efforts.
I find it hard to believe there was not 1 person interested in seeing live action re-enactmants from the Boer war to Vietnam incorporating people, vehicles, aircraft and rotary wing. Static displays, animals and entertainment.
Thank god for the MVCA and MJCQ, and those that actually do something. No wonder most of the REAL enthusiests are not online.
Here is what you missed from the comfort of your desk chair. I was too busy displaying and driving my landie, fixing a Centurion, Saladdin and parading F1 and F5 Inters. Didn't have to drive the M113 this year.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++
It seem that all the REMLR members are being punished because of the actions of a few people that live in South east Qld. by not turning up at at the land sea and air show I missed it this year because I had an operation on my left elbow Thursday afternoon and I am unable to drive. As to people that take time in restoring their vehicle I don't see what its got to do with any one else, they have their reasons what ever it is.
Any way whats done and said is done and dusted and hopefully for the better.

Wrong on all counts Cliff.
In spite of all the back sniping, degrading comments and Chinese whispers about us in the MVCA and others and how we like to enjoy our hobby, we support REMLR and all Military Themed events we can.
My post was about the conspicuous absence of all those people at THE major event in Queensland. In fact, not only this year. I have not seen one of you ever out supporting anything that is not for your own gain.
You have your forum now. Go and organize another lunch, and just maybe we can all just get along. I am over it, but am enjoying the conspiracy theories. I am guessing there is more to come.
It was Richard Greens decision to take it off AULRO.
CC
CC, wether or not you intended to, you aimed your scatter gun in my direction and let fly with both barrels. You wounded me.
I love military vehicles but I don't enjoy playing soldier. Not my thing.
Don't get me wrong. If you like playing dressups and making loud bangs, you do it. I might even come down to watch one day.
I have a friend who is into wargaming. Incredibly interesting but, again, not my thing.
I have another friend who loves paintball. I can't understand why. Again, not my thing.
From reading between the lines, I gather I have been wounded by persons unknown who appear to me to be the sort of people who really ought to get out more.
I think it is sad if the circumstances of this split are what has been alluded to.
Hopefully next time someone wants to take aim, they'll think of the collateral damage.
Evolution has taken me a bit by surprise, (but I'm not a creationist by any means) I can see the point from both sides and am now moderating the various remnant and new military forums in the AULRO pinnacles so bear with me in the interim.
Yes I am also a new forum member on the new REMLR board (this time in my real name).
I can see a benefit for the military enthusiasts who get frustrated by people (with any real interest in things military) who use the antecedant AULRO REMLR forum to pick the brains of the REMLR people .
My only real dissappointent is the access issues wiith the old REMLR Forum, perhaps Phoenix and Incisor can look at a means of having it open as a reference archive. However that will require time and effort to work together on what is likely to be multiple technical issues. Unfortunately time is a resource that many of us are rather short of.
I wish both forums continued success.
Diana
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
