    Sunroof replacement?

    Evening all
Sunroof in my 01 ES TD5 is buggered.
Has been since i bought it, and now that funding is plentiful i'd like to have it replaced.
Any advice on where to source a replacement?
    Cheers.

    That's a broad statement.

    What's actually wrong with it?

Sorry. Early starts don't agree with me!

No idea. I didn't know the sunroof had issues when I went to look at it, as the ad for it made no mention of it. The lady then informed me that "The side rails are buggered" her words exactly.
Seeing as she took $500 off it, I wasn't feeling picky!
So yeah. Doesn't budge when the switch is pressed, no sound of electrical whirring or grinding of gears or anything like that.

I don't know the sunroof on a Disco but the P38A roof (which I assume to be very similar) has a manual operation option. This is mainly used to close the roof.

The light near the centre of the windscreen can be removed and this tool inserted to operate the roof. The tool came with the car.

A screwdriver can also be used.

The mechanism on the sides of the roof can break. New ones can be bought, I had to replace one on mine.

The problen is that if it's not leaking, do you want to fiddle around with it?

Probably not. Pretty dewy around here. I'm due for a service in 4000kms, so ill probably take it down to sydney, either to Davis or Grahem Cooper and get them to have a look at it
