    Graeme Cooper Service Costs?

    G'day all
First service with me owning the Disco, will be its 220 000kms service.
Seeing as the local dealer won't service it (too old), looking at taking it to Graeme Cooper down in sydney.
Anybody know the cost of a basic service?
Any issues with them, or on the other hand, recommendations?
    Cheers

i would call them, depends on what you want doing.
others to try would be klr @ kingswood, davies performance @ annangrove.

why not do it yourself, its quite satisfying doing the work and learning more about your car.
maybe ask a local member to show you how?, think there are a couple out your way as sydney seems a long way to come for a service.

Only issue I can see at that mileage is timing belt if it's a Disco 1. If it hasn't been done since 100k, or if you have no idea when it was done, get it done!
It'll be costly to get someone to do it, possibly $700.

I would call the service department first and have a chat. Explain that the car is new to you and was wondering what a 220,000km service would entail and aprox cost - excluding additional findings that they may find (eg worn brakes).

I service my Disco the best I can (oil, filter change and greasing). As I am not a mechanic I take my Disco into an independant landrover mechanic every 3 or 4 services to get a good look over by the experts. When they ring me up and explain what is required I make a decision as to what I am comfortable doing and get them to do the repairs that are beyond me. Alot of repairs I probably could perform, but as it is my main vehicle I need to minimise the time it is off of the road.

Sorry I can not recommend any mechanics your way.

    Muppet,

What ever it is it will be approximately 50% of what a dealer would charge you.

I have used them for the majority of my services and they are very good.

As most have said, give them a call and they will give you a pretty reliable guide on the service component and what else you might be up for and every time they have told me that they have found something else on the day it has been stuff I thought would need doing anyway.

    I can recommend them.

    George.

Do you have a manual which states what is required at 220,000km? Or buy a workshop manual for your vehicle. Of course, you would have to check the service history to see if it is up to date.
If it was my new vehicle, I'd be getting a workshop I trusted to do a really major service to make sure everything was up to date.
Changing oils and filters is easy and I do it, but I get the experts to do major stuff, rather than risk stuffing it up myself.

    G'day all
    It's a D2 Td5.
Brakes are feeling a bit soft, so ill look at getting them done.
I'm the third owner of the car, not sure how the first owner treated it but the lady I bought it off seemed to stay on top of its service requirements, so it should be okay.
    Cheers for all the input

G'day I have had my classic rangie worked on at KLR and can recomend them, my father in law also swears by Bruce Davis at Annangrove. The advantage for me, living in Bathurst is that KLR is closer and easier to get to in Penrith.

I cant help with the service myself but if you feel like a day out in the central west let me know. Cheers.

I think I'd be trying to find someone local down the track. While I'm sure Coopers & the like to a great job, they're not exactly 'around the corner' for those times when you do get stuck with a mechanical issue.

I also don't understand how your local dealer can say your car is too old. It's a D2 FFS, not something with a carby & rod brakes.

I know, it's annoying. New dealer, said they couldn't do d2s, nothing pre 05
