It's official then, the majority of Aussies wouldn't know a good beer if it hit them in the head!![]()
The latest Neilsen figures show XXXX mid-strengh beer has been crowned as the Nation's most popular beer. VB came in second, Carlton a distant third, the rest are still running. Still, the slide has to be expected when the States Sports Minister thinks the " State of the Origin " is between Qld and New Zealand.![]()

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Sign of the times that a less than full strength beer is the most popular. And the sales of foreign beers increases as well.

Mid-strength beer! Now they’re really clutching at straws.
VB is still the number one selling beer in Australia.
Quote from Wikipedia
‘Victoria Bitter is Australia's highest selling beer and has been for more than 20 years. It sells twice as much as any other full strength beer and is the only Australian beer brand that is in the top 3 sellers in every state. Victoria Bitter is Australia's only billion dollar retail beer brand and sells the equivalent of one slab every second.’
Sorry for being a kill joy.![]()
Both beers should only be used as paint thinners... Unless you drive a VS with a southern cross sticker on the rear window there is no excuse to drink that stuff.
I use VB as a drain cleaner, and xxxx in the parts washer....

James Squires 150 lashes pale ale all the way baby
hmm neither beers ever win competitions, xxxx used to be rather good when it was an ale, and most "seasoned" xxxx drinkers didnt even know it had become a lager. The original VB made at Buffalo Brewery must have been a ripper.....they still make a very similar beer (ale) which tastes great. If I go into a pub and theres 3 beers on tap two being VB and Fourex I'll choose the third. Australia's largest privately owned/family mangaged brewery produce the worlds highest ranked selection of ales and lagers consistently winning international beer tasting competetitions. If you dont know who they are keep drinking your auspice and salt.
