Never had a rpoblem with the front disks on any of the BA's or BF's, though the AU was run up the dack of someone because the brakes were that shocking, obviously Ford haven't got their quality control sorted in that department haha
BF front discs can be had for $50 each, they're consumables and only need the brake caliper removing to get off, and maybe a hammer if they're stuck on the spigot.

Check the heater works (BA models). Very commobn to break mixer rod inside climate control box. Dash out to repair. $600+
Geez, you must have driven a different one to me. I had to put up with one for 3 weeks while the Falcon was getting some panel work done - not my fault- and it was truly the most aweful car I have ever driven. It was just the base model, but my god, what a peice of ****. Why anyone would put an automatic transmission behind a weak, small ashmatic 4 cylinder engine is absolutely beyond me.

Put 6,000 miles on a Hertz Camry in the USA last year. No trouble holding 85-90 mph all day on the interstates. Excellent fuel economy, much better than the Nissan Versa I got later on. Wouldn't buy one though. I don't fit. Going any distance I would take off my shoes as the footroom is pathetic. Visibility from the driving position is awful and I am 6'1". Toyota sell these upmarket in the USA as their top of the line. They don't have an Aurion or Avalon between the Camry and Lexus (badge engineered Toyota). The Hertz girl thought she was upgrading me with a Camry. I ordered a Chev Impala and they didn't have one in Reno. She was quite surprised when I curled my lip and complained about getting a four cylinder Jap ****box. Interior room aside the thing surprised me, never put a foot wrong.

The V6 Camry had some go in it,not that I would have one given to me.
A lady I used to to farm work for had one.Several times whilst on cruise control the throttle would lock on and it didnt have the breaking power to overcome the cruise controlCruise would not disengage.
I checked it out for her and could only pick slight coolant loss from the throttle shaft.I pointed out that this wasnt normal, the dealer said it was spilt by a tech. Not so as I saw it wet 200km away from the dealer!!!!
She got no help from the dealer warranty wise, they put it down to her being an older lady and not being used to having cruise control, despite having it on the older Volvo she traded.
I spent some time reaserching the issue on the net and found that in USA they had some issues with a hotspot temporarily siezing the throttle shaft on the V6,affected motors showed an external coolant weep on the throttle shaft.
Armed with the info she stormed the dealer and refused to drive the V6 anymore. She ended up with a free swap to a brand new 4cyl Camry.
Not long after she traded back to a new Volvo declaring NEVER to buy a new toyota again.I see she now has a Rodeo rather than a Hilux farm ute

Both the Camry and the Aurion have a huge blindspot behind the "A" pillar.
The organisation my wife works for has a huge fleet of them and we have a friend who works for Federal Government organisation and she is always complaining about the poor visibility. As I type this her (friend) work car (Aurion) is at the Panel Shop recover from a prang last week. It was poor visibility due to the "A" pillar that contributed to the incident.
I must admit that the Aurions go like s.....t out of a shangai though!
Cheers, Mick.
