    Farewell

I am now after 20 months of constant problems with my D2 TD5 finally giving in. The Disco while enjoyable has left such a sour taste in my mouth with its constant repairs, costing tons, and every two months a problem I no longer have any love for it. I have had nothing but issues from the car since day one, and while I respect and enjoyed the drive, my wallet is only so deep. So she is now for sale.

This site is extremely useful and is nothing but helpful and friendly.

But LR have not improved they are still producing sub par cars, with costly repair bills.

So thank you and good bye

    Josh

MightyJosh I feel the same about my Jeep WJ but you can't paint the whole brand with the same brush because of one lemon.

My advice is buy a vehicle with a factory warranty and a service plan and make sure you sell the vehicle before these expire.

The paperwork for my new Wrangler Unlimited Sahara is on it's way to the dealer, but there is no way I'd buy a new generation electrickery vehicle without the appropriate warranties.

That's why the overlanding car is a 110 V8 CSW. A hammer, a pair of baling pliers, some duct tape, some fencing wire, some heavy duty cable ties, and a shifting spanner and I can fix 90% of the problems on the 110.

The difficulty with LR is that they all start off green... but too many turn yellow as they mature.

    - And they never turn into Oranges.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate Landy experience, pop in from time to time if you need a dose of personality you won't get with a ricebox. And don't forget to tell us which car it is so we know not to buy it :P good luck

Far too many tools but you forgot the WD 40. This and the duct tape is all you need. If it moves and it shouldn't use the duct tape. If it should move and it doesn't, use WD 40.

I dont blame you Josh, when I bought the Land Rover I was never going to buy, I had a number of issues hit me which nearly horrified me, starter motor, fuel pump, harmonic balancer, alternator, fuel pressure regulator, one ****ing thing after the other. It is an eternal love hate relationship and I think if more owners were as honest as you they'd sell theirs too.If it were a holden/falcon/camry theyd trash them, but theres something we all know inside about the little geen oval that keeps us nurturing the bloody things.

When i bought my Disco to replace my P38 it didnt take me long to realise that the 38 is less drama and easier to work on.
I sold my Disco and stuck with the 38!
    Alas they are Land Rovers
