Until December last year I owned a VW Passat 2.0 Tdi. What a magnificent car it was. Quiet, smooth and wow, did it GO. Oh yes, and it stopped and went around corners really well too
Hopefully in July this year I'll be getting another Passat, a wagon this time. All I can say is that as excellent as my MY07 was, the new one is even better.
Value for money is excellent, I had no maintenance issues and the economy of 6.0l/100k was fantastic. From what I've read, the Prius uses the same.... I can tell you what I'd rather be driving.

    Can't wait

AHH yes the Passat wagon, Bloody nice Spanish designed Indian built car that.

check it out its no more German than the badge and that's made in china.

cars really are no longer a judgment of a country's ablitys. sheesh you wouldn't want the world to judge Australia on the quality of a coma door would you?

isnt it a renault-nissan made in china.

    or a ford in argentina.

my uncle had to wait for a german made model when the 380 was scraped.he ended up with a dealer demonstrator as they could get a
german built version.wasnt a diesel and could get you in trouble with the Law very easily.suffered from tyre and brake wear.

the service cost worked out at more than my disco 1 purchase price-a few times it went off to the dealer with minor recalls like fuel tank that didnt fit..

when it comes to engines there is nothing like a VW/pug diesel.
i was just looking at a mercury V8 diesel marine engine made by VW.
once it was chev-chev or ford.
