i much preferred my at-35 to them but if i was buying now i would be getting one of these
Hitchmaster® DO35 V2 coupling
am going to get one for my current trailer when i collect some coin..
Has anyone had experience with ozhitch camper trailer hitches? I just got back from the Fraser Island cleanup and frustrated with these hitches. The video on U tube shows them effortlessly lining up and away you go. In my experience you need a hammer to drive the bloody pin in, and bash the thing out to get in undone. It has a grease nipple to grease the pin, but this just attracts dust and then not only can you still not get the pin out, you get covered in grease as well!
The hitch is supposed to self align and guide itself into place but unless you are perfectly square on it just gets jammed.
Am I doing something wrong, or have I just got a dud one? At $350 odd I expected it to work as it is advertised.

I agree they do not work as advertised but they are a lot better than most of the opposition. I also keep a hammer nearby to help remove the pin and put it in - yes dirt in the grease is an issue but I try to keep the pin on at all times.
I previously had an Orac and the Ozihitch is a 1000% better and from what I have seen also a Treg. The trick is to raise or lower the trailer to that sweet spot that starts to unload the pin.
As far as alignment goes - yes is an issue and the rubber bits on mine are heavily chewed just after a few uses - the casting is a bit rough.
I think it could be improved on to have a bucket on top with sloping sides that would guide the tow bar section into - as is any self guided for and aft - not side to side.

Just had a look at the v2 DO35 video from the link that incisor posted. Funny that they took this on Fraser Island in front of the wreck of the Maheno, I was just there this morning! These seem to be good in a couple of ways. 1 you are using the weight of the camper to hitch it on so no pins to drive in. 2 no parts to loose. 3 dust cover. How much are these?
I Have the Hitchmaster DO35 on my AORC Quantum Van and it works a treat only thing is that you have to keep the grease up to the pin apart from that No other issues, easy to hook up and unhook would definately recommend themRegards Jim
I also 2nd a hylander hitch. Mines on the wind up and rated to 3 1/2 ton. None of this stuffing around changing tow tongue to suit trailers. And yes I've test mine out I think it works a treat.
Cheers joe
Any of the offroad hitches are a pain in certain conditions, soft sand being the worst, amazing how easy it looks in the demo vids, because it's in the perfect position already, how about lets see the whole process, because moving a trailer in sand is pretty much inpossible.
I've pretty much seen most of these hitches being used and I reckon they are pretty much the same.
Save your money, get used to the hitch, they take time to master, keep them lubricated and they are fine, use a silicon based lube.

its no wonder they disable the comments on You tube so people cant discuss issues with products.
Looking at it this morning briefly,I am thinking that the tolerances of the holes are too tight so I might enlarge them slightly.
If I had my time again I would not have bought a Ozihitch and bought a Hyland as it is a much easier hitch to use and works as good when offroad.
