Yeah - I saw him traveling north around Glass House on Friday, the 'lemon' on a car trailer with flags, signs and lemons and all else all over it. I did however think it funny that it looks like he's gone and shelled out on a new one to tow it around.

End of the day there's a lot of happy Tojo drivers, just like there's a lot of happy LR drivers BUT I know if something had driven me to that extent I would be changing brands for sure.

If you're looking for a daily driver with occasional off-road capacity, then have you looked at the Pajero diesels ?

If you're very much 'over' having to work on cars, these may be good compromise. - They're not as big and bulky as ToyoSans but have heaps of useful interior space. - double that of a current RR and much more than a Disco. (Comments from a long time-Disco II owner...)

At my vintage, I can appreciate 'boring' and 'lack of personality' in a car...

Plus you've got the option of fuel economy with 2WD for commuting.

For what it's worth, one of the blokes in my 4wd club has a son who had a new Jeep Wrangler (2010 I think). He has had nothing but problems and has just traded it on a new Defender. I own a Jeep as well, just not a Wrangler, so I'm not biased against them. It's hard to get it all in the one package. The Wrangler is so much better on the tarmac than the Defender in my opinion (ducks for cover ) but reliability issues are a pain.

I have recently bought a 2l turbo diesel small coupe as a second car. Still have my '84 V8 90 and love it, but it is great to get in a car that you KNOW will start every time, uses 5.5l/100km, you can park in multistory car parks etc. Perhaps a 'sensible' 2nd car is a better option instead of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none compromise.
I certainly appreciate my 90 a lot more when I drive it on weekends now i know I am not depending on it.

The obvious downside is 2 lots of rego and insurance but for me it is worth the extra cost.
