    Anyone need an Operations Manager?

    Well,

With Friday the 13th just around the corner, and the 3rd day back from Annual leave, I got the good news today my position is being made redundant.

So 12 months after walking into a business that was going backwards and on the brink of insolvency, to turning that around to be a profitable company, paying back it's debts and looking to expand, it seems my sevices are no longer required. I have until August 10.

On the Job hunt again, and it means all trips I was planning are off until further notice.

    When it rains, it pours.

They do say the sign of a good manager is that the show goes on without said person around, perhaps you just did to good of a job.

Smile, chuck the kids on the car and go on a trip somewhere interesting.

I do have a few sick days up, seeing how I have never taken one EVER. Just not that type of person though. I will do my duties as I see it out, while looking for something else.

    Maybe Darryl Lea has something

    Bugger!

There is no loyalty to employees for a job well done these days, good luck with the job search!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I have just been down there, albeit a little bit South West of You. Have a look in SLOw Trip Reports. I am working on another Blow by Blow report, so keep your eyes open for that one too.

Thanks for the offer, but need to find some more work before play.

Was in JB HiFi today. The mob that has on it's yellow bags "Melbourne's cheapest prices". Back in the days JB owned it, they were. Not so now. They don't carry much stock either. And the product range is dwindling. Went in to buy stuff today and left empty handed and disappointed.
There's an opening for you CC. It would be sad to see this Melbourne icon go as well.

(Been a loyal customer of theirs for years. Used to visit their East Keilor store every Friday night. Help funded it's expansion from one shop to the adjoining shops. You couldn't move in there in those days.)

Lots of it going around mate. I was technically made redundant by Can't-Do at the end of last month - by not renewing my contract.
Been there a few years on rolling temporaries, there were open permanent positions for my role but always got knocked back. (Don't believe the pollies, these are NOT temp's as you'd assume being dropped from Qld Gov't. I know of at least one person who'd been kept on rolling temp contracts for 12 years!)
It really doesn't seem to matter where you are these days, you get used until they think they can do without you & then you get spat out.

Look, in my case I believe I'll end up better off. Most times I've been forced to move on I've quickly wondered why hadn't I done so earlier? I hope the same happens for you.

    Good luck
    Matt
