I've been watching TdF also, it's been great. Such a grand place!
Well, once again a very interesting race.
i have been watching it all every night to the end.
Wish I had that sort of fitness.
I find the contest interesting but mainly I watch to take in the history of the place. To see those churches and stuff built in the 11th and 12th centuries and still in use is staggering. The whole country is so picturesque.
The other week we went thru a small village where we briefly saw an Oak tree dating back to the 9th century !!! Imagine that. Gawd.
I wonder how many dogs over the centuries have taken a leak against it ?
I always keep my eye out for Gum or Box tree's but alas, I get homesick sitting in front of my TV.
Cheers.
Robert.
PS: Next month the Tour of Spain is on. I am looking forward to seeing that part of the world also.

I had the chance to drive from Paris - Orleans - Clermont Ferrand - Montpelier - Nice - Monaco and back to Paris taking yet other routes via Aurilliac- Chateauroux.
As you said the back country is magnificent and people are very welcoming and smiling.
I'm a fan also. First saw it by chance several years ago when channel flicking. I think it was the year Floyd Landis was in yellow and he cracked half way up a climb. I was hooked within minutes at the drama unfolding. Now watch it every year - one of the best sport and scenic spectacles in the world.
2024 RRS on the road
2011 D4 3.0 in the drive way
1999 D2 V8, in heaven
1984 RRC, in hell
For some reason i havent been inspired by this years tour. I usually am hooked on it but the riders just dont seem to have the personality of the older races.
I've been inspired by Froome this year. Have to be philosophical about Australian chances just enjoy the awesome effort but would have been good to see Matty Goss take a stage. Perhaps on Champs-Elysees like Robby did some years back.
I'm told you can hire a bike at the bottom and climb Alpe d'huez, this is definitely on my bucket list.
Tour de Farce/Pharmacy
Well I enjoyed this year. Yes a pity Cadel couldn't do it again but there is something that I like about Wiggins
As for the pharmacy swipe, you gotta admit Slunnie, the sport has got a bit of a credibility hill to climb...
