The usual buyer beware notice should be inserted in this thread.

i have had good and bad experiences with very well known uk parts suppliers....

two mentioned in this thread so far have given me major grief yet others have no issues with them.

you just need to acknowledge that they dont always get it right and when it isn't, it can be a major hassle....

If you want a head, you can't beat Turners. Answer emails ASAP. I ordered Mon night. It was at my post office the next Monday morning, regional Victoria.

Below is a link to the mob I used to get the stuff I mentioned 4 posts ago. Post number 8. I found their service, prices and freight to be good.

I priced an MM Alternator from Paddocks UK @ AU$158, great till they wanted AU$150 for freight. Stuff buying stuff overseas, your warranty ain't worth **** when they are 12,000miles away, the good ol USof A is no better, you can double the actual cost when you add freight, same deal with warranty.
Rather pay the extra in Australia and know I have a warranty, enforcable by law, and my money stays here, good luck with your hip pocket when your gear ****s itself and your up for frieght back to where you bought it from, Regards Frank.

Here is a copy of the stuff I got.

I can't remember how much it converted to but I think it was around $375. I shopped around for an alternator in oz, and the best I could get was not much cheaper than the above total.

So in the unlikely event that I do have issues with the alternator, I will order another one. About two UK ones for the price of one Au one.

That depends on what you buy. I've very rarely had trouble with parts from Dingocroft and LR Series and they've just sent replacements, straight out.

I deal with: Dingocroft, who send by Parcelforce; LR Series, who send by Fedex; Turner Engineering, who send by (I'm trying to remember) I think DHL, Rimmer Bothers, and once LR Direct, but I'll buy more from them when the time comes. I've also gotten a lot of stuff from UK eBay and had it sent by Royal Airmail.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
