    Snow

Took the family up to Baw Baw yesterday. Have to say it was the best quality snow that I have ever seen in Australia...very dry & light. The road up (& down) was very icy & slippery & we were told that 3 cars had gone over the edge that day. Saw one on its side wedged in between 2 trees. We were told that we didn't have to fit chains with a 4x4 with A/T's but should if we were concerned. Snowed at the top quite a bit & altough many put chains on to come down I just put her in low range & she didn't slip once. Kids (& folks) had a great day.

The snow was fairly low down the hill as well. I was at Mt St Gwinear yesterday first snow was sighted 10 minutes from the Rawson turn off. Was about 35 cm at the carpark

It settled quite well in the NSW Snowy Mountains yesterday. Our place east of Tumba is at about 700m and we copped a fine dusting. On the road out it looked like this:

And an hour later we came back to:

Perfect for a little one to have her first snow play!

We went to Mt Sassafras last weekend then Mt Benambra, swag it and camped at Stacey's Bridge at Nariel, Wheelers Creek Hut and Kismet on the murray on the way home, a great weekend with friends in the snow.

Looks like a great time Baz! We love the drive from Benambra to Nariel in winter. Some of the views are absolutely spectacular.

The baby Tread looks pretty happy to be there!

Wrap them up like a michelin man and let 'em loose in the snow, not much cuter than that

Both my girls (14 and 18 now) did just that, first playtime in the white cold fluffy stuff was a great time had by all.

Thats all changed now - Eldest has been known to step out of the vehicle on top of mt Wellington in near blizzard conditions and photograph herself in t shirt and shorts.

    Teenagers, really.

nice to see the snow in pictures but have too many memories of digging out my old cars after a night of snow or if the plow had come down the street before i could get out of the drive . as for chains they were illegal on the road and i like most others i knew never even had snow tires ! when my parents last visited they commented on the AT's asking how often it snowed in Bris. got a good chuckle from that
