    Engine Stand

I remember someone attatching an engine to a rotary stand by its side rather than the end. Anyone done this.?

I put engine stand into the search twice and each time got "no matches" Strange

Just last weekend I attached a 300tdi block side on to the stand...
Fiddled with spacers and what not. Picked up a baffle plate hole and maybe fuel pump or vac holes and then main engine mount bolt holes.

Made it easier to work on the cam / front cover and flywheel before adding ancillaries

Yes it seems a good idea. I want to do it with a 2 litre S1 engine. I am sure chazza or someone put a pic up once but the search thing is hopeless.
