Thumbs up The pleasure of driving a Landy.

Well, I really must confess: I absolutely love driving my landy
Nothing brings me quite as much enjoyment as climbing up into the cab, where it's always a pleasant temperature and setting off for home.
Window down, a cool breeze with the pleasant smell of country air, good tunes, a comfy seat really makes it a pleasure to drive.
With the Td5 pushing it along nicely, devouring hills with ease, giving plenty of power to surge past that one learner driver or truck, it's fantastic
    Any buyers remorse? None whatsoever.
Even the bill for the new ATF cooler couldn't stop me grinning.
Occasionally I look at Defenders and think "Should I have gotten one of those?"
But right now, I can't see myself in anything except my beloved Disco
So thanks LandRover, You got it right with this one
Do you enjoy driving your landy, or is it the knowledge that you're superior to everyone else that keeps you hanging around?
    Cheers
    Muppet

Hey Muppet you have a disease..its called Landroveritis, thats why all of us here are here
To consul and reminisc about what we have or what we had. There is no cure.
You will just have to live with it for as long as you live. There will be times when it gets you down and no matter of pills will help. Others will look at you and snigger but deep down you know you are right and they have no idea.
I have had this disease since 1977 when I drove my bosses Rangie..I wanted one, I got mine in 1983, I havent driven anything else that I own since then. You normally dont stop at one I recently had 3 but I am down to 2, but that may change in the future. I still look forwad to driving mine every day I can. The pleasure never goes away..........

I hear what you are saying Cam

Our first LR was a disco, it took us everywhere we wanted to go and then some Don't regret selling it though as we have the defender and of course my treasures 'zara', 'bessie' and 'connie-sue'

Never driven a new landy, maybe I should try one out some day.
I do love the way the old series 3 behaves though, and the old (Naval Police) bosses Firefly was a little gem to drive.

I have a 94 Disco, and I actually enjoy driving it than my 2012 Prado at times, it feels and handles like a 4wd should be, though the diesel Prado is zippier, the tdi makes me enjoy the drive more

There's just something about the way the Green and Gold oval seems to grin at you from the steering wheel (if you have it )
The only little niggle I have now is as I have to literally climb up into it because of the lift, I keep knocking me head on the top of the door
There's something entirely satisfying about seeing the road stretch ahead, and knowing that you're going to enjoy every kilometre of it

i know how you guys feel
i have had other 4x4s and i can honesty say that when i get home from work i find a need to drive my disco
Their is just something about the growl from my little 3.9 that makes me smile every time even if shes just worming up
I havent been in my disco for that long but i cant see me going back to any others even though shes making me a better mechanic lol
    I love my Disco
