Shirley having equipment treated onsite has got to be a hell of a lot more inexpensive (or less expensive [bighmmm]) & convenient than waiting until the brown stuff hits the fan & having to replace equipment?
Bly Gold was the one I was thinking of but the name eluded me for a bit.

Most all condenser come from the factory with 'corrosion protection' generally a blue film on the fins and tubes, bus it's often not worth a pinch of poop.
That Clint chiller I spoke of coils are all treated, and the fins are dissapearing already...
Auscoil's coating is green, I think it's some sort of epoxy but I've had one of their evaporator coils go through in twelve months too, and that was in Canberra!

I have to get a large blast freezer coil made by them soon,then i will have it BlyGold coated.
The Temperzone coating on the later model units is a gold type of colour and seems not bad.
The Green coating on the Airefridge commercial refrig units seems pretty good as well.
We are having trouble with copper tubes in condensate pans lasting about 3 months lately,on a few different jobs.Dont know whether its crap copper or what.Anyway,dropped one off at Blygold to get coated yesterday,see how it goes.We also bend up 3/8 shoved up 1/2 tube for extra thickness as well.[biggrin]
Yep, Temperzone's coating works well.
I can't believe how quickly the chassis of Splitties disappear here :o

When one lives in a "Beautiful one minute & perfect the next" enviroment it is more important to get this right, right?
Now, if they could only get the Galv. protection right, as I reckon "Galv ain't Galv anymore Sol" & suspect the quality & thickness of the coating is much less than the good old days. Take a peek at olde & new galv roofing sheets.
Zinc rich Dimet was ok but you can hardly dip your roof in a bath of that & I am not sure it would work with Copper & Ally.[smilebigeye]

Even genuine Colourbond also seems to be crap & it fades to buggery & that was supposed to the answer to a maiden's prayer.
Oh hang on a tick 4bee............... then they wouldn't sell replacement bits & pieces. Scrub that idea.

SAPOL are the authority that are charged to take action against anyone dumping a fridge without removing the lock & hinges so kids cannot play in it & get locked in & die.
E'rr indoors reported one once expecting the local plod to take prompt action for one that was dumped in a paddock on a main road.
All she got was a cross examination on the phone by the woman cop "How do you know it's illegal? & similar ****. FFS, we had been in that side of things for donkey's years & kept up with changes. We knew so why didn't the cops?
Two weeks later it was removed by persons unknown. Plenty of time for a child to die. At the very least the cops should have attended & turned it onto it's face, down.
Didn't anyone realise that after "three previous escapes" that there was a problem.
Mrs Summer's freezer room should have had as a minimum, an internal door release, usually a rod connecting to the outside mechanism with a "mushroom" knob inside & been clearly marked. An audible internal alarm switch & strobe light would have helped as well.
It would have been terrifying for her if someone had also turned the light out.
It's not rocket science & has been available for years.
It will be interesting to know where the the buck stops. Site MANAGER I reckon, unless it is another whitewash.
This item says mountains & none of it good & the staff who knew there was a problem should be hung up by the 'nads ( or norks) with piano wire.
This sort of **** makes me sooo angry at the incompetence of some people who are entrusted with other people's care..
Why didnt you go over and turn the offending fridge over? Or remove the door? Just asking....
