Justin, have noticed a lot of Isuzu/landrover owners frequent the tractor sites. Why is it so.

How this can happen?
For sure there were few bolts missing other ways it is impossible.

It is not uncommon for cast flywheels to explode in tractor pull vehicles (and drag cars, etc...).

The stresses when dumping the clutch at high revs with a high load on the back...

I thought these days a ring around the flywheel was mandatory???

Well, hooking without free play 2 John Deere 4020 fitted with steel spike wheels to pull a 4 blade plough was not uncommon on the rice farms in Uruguay and I have never seen even a crack on the cast iron bell.
Then again, John Deere tractors are in different category

Ferrari had a sports-racing car model in the 50's that had an inline 6 cylinder 3.5 litres. Used to go like bloody hell. The flywheel was fixed to the crank over a large taper & keyway on the end of the crank with one large securing nut. They were notorious for the flywheel coming adrift and nearly cutting the car in half or making a very large hole depending on how long it rattled around before exiting. How a driver never lost a leg or foot is beyond understanding. The series was not long lived.

Watched the vid, I'd say the engine ran away after he pressed the clutch in and it simply exploded (at approx 1:00).

After watching the vid again with the sound on I tend to agree.

I know of Formula Ford that sheared it's flywheel bolts and it buzzssawed through the bellhousing cutting the car in half on the start line at Amaroo once (and no, it wasn't mine)

Knowing who built the engine I'm not surprised.
He rebuilt my first engine for me from the engine that came with the car, charged me $4500 and when a mate and I pulled it down for its first rebuild the flywheel bolts were so stretched that they were a 1/3 longer than normal and waisted
