I don't know how I did it but I did.

Yesterday work rang and wanted me in pronto,I parked the Tdi up and jumped straight into my truck and took off on my first load and went from there, nine hours later, thats NINE hours later I finished and went to jump back into the Tdi only to find the engine running,I jumped out without turning it off.At lunch time it was 34 degree's,at two it was 36 and at three when I finished it was 37 and the old girl sat there all day for nine hours happy as larry, the temp was just below half like it has for the last 14 years and except for a bit of blue smoke for a few K's the exersize hasn't worried it at all.Lucky for both of us I keep the cooling system in good nick. Pat

I hope you didn't see the recent post about how leaving your diesel engine to idle for just 20 seconds is bad!

If you mean the glazing of the bore then (following the logic of that thread) pat just needs to give it a good spanking to clear it

You'd have thought that someone around the yard would have noticed and turned it off for you,, or at least rung and informed you.

Ha, Pat don't worry, happened to someone I know.

200 Tdi 1993 Defender, went down to the lower paddocks to check on the cattle, fixed a few things at the trough etc, then walked back home. Got up in the morning, 'Where's the 110???' 13 hours of idling and almost 1/2 a tank of fuel, drivers door open, cattle standing around their 'new' friend that makes a strange noise.....

We haven't let him forget it, we added the moniker 'Idle' to his name after that

So yeah, just go out and give it a good caning, she'll be right Pat
