All the best there, Perry. Do you need Bushie?
Just got the word. We're on standby at Yulara as fires are burning out of control in the vicinity of the resort. The local NTFRS have been out most of the day.
From our FCC all one can see is smoke and dust with gusty winds and high temps for most of the day. The Rock and Olgas have been invisible all day and no aircraft are now flying.
The fires have been around for the past week (lightning strikes) and todays weather has only exacerbated the problem. Unfortunately my camera is downstairs.

Reminds me of what we are going to expect in the Ranges. Hope every one remains safe and no loss of life or property
It's been a bit surreal for me the past couple of weeks - it's the first fire season that I'll miss in 18 years!![]()
Wish I could say the same !!!!!!!!
Haven't missed one since 1971, although luckily some have been duds, but more than a few have been tragic.

Perry, does this mean that there is a small chance that you may have to actually do a days work!!!
Keep the rock wet, that is the main tourist asset.
