That reminded me of a funny incident some time ago, Was working at a place that had apart from what I was there for a mob that fitted and repaired those hydraulic truck cranes that fit behind the cab. One time a truck came into the work shop with one that had been speared through the tray. Apparently they had left the crane extended along the tray. Interesting I thought. Then I was told this was the second truck that was sent to replace the first truck that had done exactly the same thing going under the same bridge

There's hours of footage of the same thing happening at that bridge, on the tube. The guy who puts them up has a website dedicated to it, he lives close by.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

There is a sign there telling drivers what the clearance is, can't these people read. Surely as a heavy vehicle driver they must know the height of their vehicle!!

Ian, Didn't you ever try on the rail bridge at Muswellbrook for size? Or the rail bridges at Ipswich Road and O'Keefe St. Wooloongabba and Logan Rd. Buranda.

There is a railway underpass at Fassifern near Toronto that has a warning sign limiting vehicles to 2.8m. I am a bus driver and my bus is 3.3m high and it goes under with nearly a metre to spare!! The reason.................the underpass is oval shaped, like a railway tunnel and if you keep the bus dead centre, you go through.
I have fun when training new drivers, I say "what are we going to do, the bus is 3.3m high and the underpass clearance is 2.8m"??? I let them suffer in their jocks for a while, before I explain how we can do it!!!!

There are plenty of scrape marks in there though.............not from buses!!!!
