I pumped petrol as a 15 yo in 1970. It was about 48 cents a gallon.

Yes, that was before the first Oil (price) crisis began forty years ago on 17 October 1973. The Middle Eastern oil suppliers worked out that they could use oil as leverage on the US by cutting supply when it was supporting Israel as well as getting a better price . Today OPEC has its own oil crisis in a way as many previous oil consuming countries have other forms of energy or like the US and Russia are almost independent of the Middle East.

This is the bag I have been using for about the last five years. Has a carry strap on the back. I cant remember what brand.
It lives fulltime on the trailer in the shade and is kept topped up with filtered drinking water.
It goes onto the bar on the front of Me Disco when I am going off for more than half a day. The front nozzle position is handy because you just tilt the bag back and fill yer mug. Holds about six or seven litres.
I hose off the dust and bugs before I return it to the trailer. It pays to look after them.
If you keep it topped up full time it has expanded and doesn't lose water as quickly.
Tastes good oh.
I also carry full time, ten litres of filtered drinking water in a container behind my seat. This can top up the bag or used in my 12v jug that I boil while on the move. Its handy when its raining. Boil the jug, spoon full of coffee, sunshine powdered milk and sugar or a tea bag. No mud on me elastic sided's.
On a trip I also carry an additional forty litres of drinking water.
Been using canvas bags for ever.
