It does sound like an escapee, if it's alone and hanging around and you are feeding it!!We have Rainbow Lorikeets over here (NSW)who regularly visit our backyard and they are in flocks of a dozen or so birds. Birds ( that is, Lorikeets etc) in their natural habitat do tend to flock together, as do most animals including humans.

Looks like a female King parrot, the male is red and green, regards Frank.
I think an immature or female Alexandrine? Looks a bit big to be a Indian Ringneck, although it could be.
