we use vinegar, re the bbq, stainless oven, glass splasback, windows etc...![]()
Hi
I recently rebuilt our kitchen and included a stainless steel Smeg Oven, my partner was complaining to the plumber who was fitting the gas line to it about keeping the stainless clean. The plumber said " WD40, spray it onto a paper towel and wipe with the grain". We tried it and it works really well. Since then We have used this to keep the BBQ, Rubbish bin & other stainless steel objects in the home clean.
This got me wondering?
What other good ideas are out there that involve stuff used for other than the original intention. E.G I use one of the useless locking nuts for the Disco to balance the 3 legged stand stand that holds the fire tools next to our wood heater, 2 off the 3 legs sit on the raised tiled hearth while the useless lock nut fills in the gap between the third leg of the stand & the floor.
We use a whiteboard marker on the large mirror in our en suite to write important reminders that simply wipe off when done. Its there when we wake up and one of the first things we look at in the morning as we get ready for work, many an important thing was not forgotten in the morning rush.
There must be a million good ideas out there? For example I used Zip ties to hold my sump in place on every second hole, while refitting the sump after checking the oil pump bolt This kept every thing lined up, Sump, gasket & bolt holes. Got every 2nd bolt in cut the zip ties and fitted the rest of the bolts. This kept every thing aligned & made a tricky job easy.
Your turn??
Andrew
