That is a nice set up

About 8 years the RTA served a major breach notice on a B-double for being measured overlength. The driver left the B trailer and continued his run, returning after his last drop to meet his (irate) Boss, and (different) RTA inspectors, with the trailer. By that time the reefer had exhausted it's fuel and the contents spoiled (seafood from Coffs Harbour). Rig was re-measured and found within limits. (Hint: length is measured end to end, not axle to axle - it was that far out!). The ensuing legal process and claim cost the RTA (us) $1.8mil - loss of earnings, stock, reputation etc... Doh!

Ah, the Government - working for us.

I also had a chat with an owner/driver (KW T-900) who was breached for length (22mm over), and told he'd be right if he removed the eyebolts from the front bar - no worries, except they're fasteners for the front bar.... Tape measures do stretch you know.

Anyway, where would we be without trucks and blokes to drive them? Love 'em.

    Matt.

Hey I'm parked in the 'rabbit paddock' across from the duck pond right now! Green Puma 110. Directly behind that guy with the silver 90. Is he on here?

    Cheers

No the vessel fishes for 12 days, unloaded here and 3 days to brisbane sydney, so oldest fish is 15 days old when it hits auction floor.

because the fish is whole and not cut, the shelf life is longer. If handled correctly has 26 days shelf life without any problems.

    BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

I used to run a 40' reefer, from Karumba to Brisbane, at -40 with 20kg of Spanigh Mackerel for personal consumption.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

You would becorrect at guessing -2 degree's

Depending on how much ice is on the fish when it comes off, or how long the unload takes, we sometimes set the van at -12 for the first few hours then drop back to -2... Sounds simple till you forget to re-set the van and you get a call from the sellers in Brisbane saying the fish is a bit stiff

No Ean, Savannah (sic) Freightlines; Brisbane to Normanton and Karumba every week with two or three trailers and ten to fifteen drops. Brad did offer me a job, but he only did livestock then. Not my cup of tea.
