    Finally made it home yesterday

We drove off the boat, down the road and onto a 4WD track in the Dazzler Ranges. Just to introduce the old girl to some Tassie 4WDing

I did a total of 5300km for the two weeks, using just shy of $1000 of diesel

I'm now a big fan of the Isuzu powered Rovers, I've owned 2 300 Tdi's and driven several Td5s and I swear I'll never go back. Yes they are a bit noisy but the torque from even just a N/A 3.9 is pretty sweet. It will pull from 40km/h in 4th gear

Fuel economy was pretty good, using between 11.5-12.5L/100km sitting on 110km/h

Yes it may be a shame to pull it apart, but the old girl needs a facelift. A lot of the electrics don't work, the doors and bulkhead have rust and attention is needed in a few other places to bring it up to my standard In the condition it's in at the moment, there is no way it would pass the roadworthy inspection to transfer the rego over. Mechanically it's brilliant though

I have some big plans for the Landy involving a full chassis out refurb. I have a galvanised chassis to put everything back on, a Defender bulkhead and dash, 300 Tdi A/C, Defender diffs with disc brakes, turbo and inter cool the Suzi and a full fit out ready for me to move in and work/travel the big island next year.

I'll start up another thread in the projects thread with more info and photos on the build up.

Here are a few photos to finish off the thread
