No issue with your ID, it could be any of the 'species' you refer to. But the common names you give are a little confusing as you are probably aware. Such is often the case with common names for plants (and animals). Mountain Ash almost invariably only applies to Eucalyptus regnans; ; Alpine Ash to E. delegatensis; and Messmate to E. obliqua. The complexity stems from Vic Ash being a trade name applied to both Mountain Ash and Alpine Ash; and Tassie Oak being a trade name applied to all three (Mountain Ash, Alpine Ash and Messmate).
