And the funniest thing is the judges were a group of expert industry figures, none of them from ARB or TJM incidentally, so the Toyota brigade won't be able to blame it on journo. bias.

They will always find an excuse.

Interestingly I am pretty sure I read in the SMH Drive section on Saturday that they had awarded the Full size 4wd segment early to the Jeep Cherokee.

There was unanimously agreement that it would win and no formal drive off comparison was required., first time they have ever don that.

They mentioned the D4 as the carry over champ but still said the value of the Jeep made it so good they would not even bother doing the test !!!

Interesting as I think there was a thread a few week back talking about the Jeep and how compelling it was now !!

I think it would be a difficult choice at the moment, lucky I am happy with my D3 !!

Hey George - you spelled that wrong... it is "Drivel" - not "Drive"

I posted this on the Overlander Forum and the response was hilarious anguish, considering its their own magazine's forum and wouldn't exist without the magazine. The Toyota brigade just couldn't hack it! I'm still laughing.

I wouldn't waste your breath, Toyota drivers still think the Earth is flat and if you drive too far you'll fall off

Had a look in my local newsagents yesterday. There was a mag there dated December 2012. Without opening the plastic cover, it's hard to tell if it is the right mag, as there is nothing about it on the front cover.

    Cheers, Craig
It the Jan 2013 issue. I only received it in the mail yesterday, so probably won't hit the shelves for a week or two yet.
It does say 'Overlander 4wd of the year' on the cover

Thanks mate. Just received mine in yesterdays mail as well.
Interesting read. They dont say too much about each vehicle.

Landrover had better watch their butt though, the Jeep certainly looks the goods and is excellent value for money. A friend of my wife just got one with all the fruit for under $70K.

    Cheers, Craig

All LR Need to do to quash the Jeep challenge is to sharpen their pricing pencil a bit. Toyota...not worth a mention.

Well said. Don't go on there anymore for that sole reason
