Wow! I'm impressed. So is 70 the highest so far?
34(35 if you include Greenland). A long way to go! Countries listed as they were when I visited (i.e.East Germany, Jugoslavia). Like Landieman, South America is on the agenda in a few years when the kids are old enough to come with us.

Only 21 - may have missed one or two. Not all that many over about 45 years of international travel.

I never really kept track until someone asked me in a pub about a year ago, but last count was 72 or 73 countries, and I've lived and worked long term in 10. I'll make a list later when I sit down and think about it.
Not to rain on the achievement or anything, but that number has taken me the best part of 25 years, and his numbers of 1426 countries in 201 days - that's about 7 days per country. There's a lot more to visiting a country than just a stamp in the passport, IMHO. I'd be curious how many countries this guy can look back on in ten years time and honestly say he has visited. For me at least, that's not travelling - that's running from airport to airport, passport in hand, collecting stamps.

We were diverted on a flight to the U.K. during the Iran-Iraq war and flew over Saudi, lots of sand.
