    Cheap accommodation in Launceston?

I'm flying into Launceston on 15th March 2013 for a motorcycle get-together. I'll be staying at Alanvale Apartments Fri-Sat (the dinner will be at Archers Manor) but want somewhere cheaper Sun-Mon before I head to Hobart to meet with my wife. (It's for our 43rd Anniversary - we honeymooned in Tassie.)

I'm happy with cheap hotels or motels where I can base myself to walk/bus around the city with my camera.

We've stayed in this caravan park for the Launceston part of our trips to Tassie:

The town centre is within walking distance & transport is nearby too.

We also have a spare room if you don't find anywhere

I'm up in Trevallyn so it's not too much of a walk into the city and not far from the Gorge

Unfortunately I can't I've stayed in many places in my own backyard. Although I did stay at Penny Royal once, was quite nice

Thanks Mark and Jock for the offers but I reckon it's better for me to stay in a hotel or motel that way I can come and go and not disturb anyone.

However, I'd like to meet up for a drink or coffee or something (not with you, Mark.

I'm not a backpacker type so a motel or pub would suit. I can find motel info on the interwebby thingy but not pub info. Do pubs in Launceston still provide rooms? I like country pubs for accommodation.

If so, I'll make a few phone calls - but I'd like local info on which pubs are not recommended owing to being too rough, e.g., fights, noise, etc. I'd like to keep the cost under $100 per night which seems fairly easy to do in motels.

He did. He was an Admin on here for a long time. I think he's still running the REMLR site. I'll give him a call.
