Now you can see why I didn't try Palm Creek with my RRC with camper trailer on.
The buses also do this with 20 inch wheels , so normal 4X4s have no chance.
it is also so narrow that the navi would have to climb out the window to winch and my navi SWMBO is 66 and not too keen .

No she's not a Blitz mate. It's an International AACO. Much more refined than the old Blitzes. Think Series One SWB LandRover standards of performance, comfort and refinement The Std 281cu in petrol engine is a bit of a slug and likes a drink though(around 3MPG offroad)but a few have been repowered with Perkins 6 354 deisels and overdrive boxes.A more modern Jap turbo deisel and 6 or 8 speed box would be nicer though.

Our D1 towed our camper trailer through Palm Creek OK, but it was late in the season so the water level was lower than early in the season, plus we have a snorkel and minimal electronics, so the old bus will just about run under water.

Wheels magazine drove a current shape MX5 (the little two seat convertible) up to the tip a year or two ago.

Minor mods only from memory, bash plates 30mm suspension lift and A/T Tyres.

Probably followed the scratcher all the way up,you can be lucky you know. But going home could be different the road deteriorates very quickly, particularly with the advent of heavy traffic that occurs now.A few years back the owner of Bramwell Junction told me that 20000 vehicles a year were going up.I often wonder how many go back on the ship to Cairns. As they under estimated the roughness of road and chose not to drive back.Apparently the mob running the boat do a good trade as it was a couple of grand in cost from Seisha.
