    AERO PACKARD 41 Litre V12

Google search for Aero Packard Flyer Dream Rod.

A most impressive vehicle even if almost useless other than show or demonstration. Wonderful workmanship.

Built by the same people who built Jay Leno's similar vehicle with the tank engine.

The link leads to a lot of other interesting stuff.

    Are you referring to this?

All very nice and gleaming like California (Commiefornia) dreaming, including the glitz and glitter.

I much prefer the down and get dirty approach being Rat Rod nut!

Hmm, I wonder if Dellow make an adaptor to bolt one of those engines up to an LT77 ?

Would the original purpose of that engine have been for a single engined plane or multi engined? I 'm just wondering if the engine would spin the propeller or the other way round.

They were marine engines from WW2. PT Boats, motor gunboats, etc. Three of them in a PT boat. How would you like to receive the monthly account for Avgas used by one of those boats.

They were used on both single and multi engined aircraft.
Yes, the engine spun the propeller; you are thinking of the rotary engines from the first world war where the radial engine itself rotated as the crank was stationary, as in bolted to the airframe, and the prop was bolted directly to the engine which rotated.
I am glad those days are long gone; the modern turbine is so much easier to look after!!

Not sure about Dellow, but Rod Hadfield has some experience:

Better than most of the US stuff IMHO.

Thanks, but no, I was half seriously thinking that such a powerful engine in a single engined fighter type plane may in some circumstances, spin the fuselage instead of the propellar. But as you can tell, I know nothing about aeroframes.
