Just wondering about this engine, In the Sunday paper in WA it recons that it only needs an oil change every 15,000 K's, where does the soot go???

Used to 20,000km oil change intervals on a TD42T Patrol back when we had 500ppm sulphur diesel and the oil was still fine.
A large sump capacity and very exxy at the time full syn oil helped there too.

15,000km highway miles with <10ppm sulphur diesel should be relatively easy, but Holden have had lots of problems with those engines.
I know one rep that lunched two engines just driving along, she refused another and now drives a Trytoo ute.

No wonder people think all 4wdrivers are hoons that destroy the environment. Totally irresponsible advertising.

Now off to find some LR ads to restore the balance.
