I have arrived home on the North Island after three wonderful weeks in Tasmania, including four days at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival.

My time there was made all the more enjoyable and relaxing because Justin stored my kayak while I toured around and because I accepted the offer made several months ago by Wrinklearthur. He offered space to camp on his place near Brighton in a very pleasant, sheltered, private spot christened "Ranga Flat" after the first AULROvian to camp there.

In case anyone has been hesitating to accept Arthur's offer, I can recommend "Ranga Flat" without any reservation. The location is very convenient, Arthur and Denise are as nice a couple as you could ever meet and as you can probably tell from this image, the site itself is ideal for all sorts of setups with the possible exception of the sort of block of flats that TerryO tows around.

Some photos of the wooden boats are here.

it was certainly wonderful to meet you both and admire your craft, A get together next time you guys are down would be a mandatory happening, especially if a camp at ranga flat could be organised, I have visions of a spit roast etc too!
