    They can certainly do some amazing stuff with Lego now.

    I had Mechano when I was a kid, and we made a drag car out of it,, as a kid it was so cool.

    Is Mechano still around? I'm guessing it would be so expensive it'd be ridiculous.

    I believe there is a Chinese made version of Meccano now!!!

    When I was a kid (a long long time ago) I had two Meccano sets, a size 4 and a size 6 and boy, did I have fun with them, I made ships, trucks, Coal mine poppet heads etc, etc. There was also a plastic kit that I had called Buildabrix, it wasn't as versatile as Lego but you could still build houses etc out of it.

    mechano is still around but i am not sure if they have gone plastic now. it is really expensive. but that stuff lasts forever, we sue to play with my dads set from when he was a kid
