Bit harsh I reckon. I must declare an interest as I do some freelance for 4WD Action, and whilst I don't agree with everything they do by any streetch, I would have thought they have covered Defender stuff in the last 12 months very well, including several front covers and a Defender making the best 5 Custom dvd's.

I wouldn't go near 4WD Action for "How-To's", they have no Idea, couple of examples, 2 blokes under a NissToy with a Hi-Lift jack on the front bumper, about 3' in the air and on a lean, the front tyre under the chassis just in front of the rear wheel. How to remove a front crank pully/dampner with a 3 arm puller, and naming the anchor pin on a Tirfor as the sheer pin, joining a winching strap to a tree protector strap with the eyes of the straps on the sides of a bow shackle.
I reckon there is not a 4WD Action printed that doesn't offer some form of advice that is not only wrong but dangerous as well, Regards Frank.
Me I'm a fan of 4x4 Australia. Its a good read

I only watch the DVD's, throw the mags in the bin. Skip the ads and the cooking segment with a button press of the remote. The people presenting all seem like decent blokes with a sense of humour. Some of them drive Land Rovers and they are all travelling to places I would like to go to. What's not to like? I'd watch 2 flies crawling up a wall if one had traction control and the other had lockers.
I watch the DVD's from 4WD Action with my young fellas.
But for magazine specific, I think you'll be hard to go past 4x4 Australia for decent contect.
Isuzutoo-eh had it right the first time, Land Rover International is the pick, we might convert him:twisted:
