    Which 4WD mags are good?

I'm going to get my brother a subscription to a 4WD mag for Xmas, but have no idea which one to get. I haven't read any for years.

    What do you fellas read?

    Cheers
    Sean

Unfortunately he hasn't seen the light, and drives a Prado. Don't think he'd be to excited by a Landy Mag!

I think you should get him a subscription to 4WD Action, just so we can have another thread full of people whingeing about how terrible it is and how they would never read it,yet they seem to know all about it

Yep, everybody criticises all of the mags and would never buy any of them.

4WD Action though is my pick.

No specific Australian magazine, but this American one should suit a Prado family: School Bus Fleet - Pupil Transportation Industry News

If he's into family touring then Pat Callinan's mag might be the go, if he likes reviews of current vehicles as well as touring then go for Overlander. 4x4 Australia is quite similar to Overlander but slightly more towards the 'hard core' side of 4WDing IMO. 4WD Action if he's into testing his vehicle's limits and DIY mods/repairs.

Thanks for the replies - it sounds like there's not a lot of love out there for 4WD mags!

Something with a mixture of touring stories and car/equipment reviews would probably be best. I might browse some mags before I make a choice.

If that is the case then I would certainly recommend Pat Callinan Mr 4x4
