Only 2 kinds of snakes dead ones & live ones. Take your pick :wasntme:
It's a carpet python.Someone recently released one down near the Royal Mail Hotel at Goodna and the bugger had the male peacock for dinner. As you can gather they are harmless to humans but murder on Small animals, chooks etc.We have a malt factory near us too and they use them to keep the mice and rats down. They have scared the living daylights out me and other firies as we attended alarms particularly at night.
Morelia spilota metcalfei, the inland aka murray darling carpet python.
Harmless carpet snake for sure.
Need one around my place to sort out the bush rats, but have to train it not to get into the house.
SWMBO made me relocate the local carpet snake we had around our place after it got in the house for the second time.
Last year friends of ours had their kitten eaten by one. They called the local wildlife people and they said that it was not an uncommon occurrence.
Sent the photo to my good mate the herpetologist...his immediate reaction (blurry photo on his phpone) was Burmese python and it shouldn't be here:o:eek: But since it is here ...carpet python... Me? It's a snake...live and let live!:D
