that is who i checked first but it seems they only do whole numbers for the weight so i would have to say it is 1kg but it only weight 200g so it would cost nearly $30 which is too much.thanks for the reply though
I cant help but be curious about what cannot be mailed in an envelope via austpost..
But perhaps if you told me, you'd have to kill me lol
So I'll leave that one alone
you try the freight calc in the navbar?

i looked at the list of things that you can not send and they are all very obvious i am surprised you cant send a virus or bacteria though. The thing i wanted to send was a magnet
I can understand the magnet issue if in a small package which could allow it to stick to the machinery. If it was in a larger box, it would probably be OK.

thanks inc i forgot about the freight calculator this time , i have used it in the past and it worked perfectly. the cheapest price now is $15 so that is good it is a shame i cant send it through australia post as it would be only about $5 or so, but oh well what can you do
My packet of rare earth magnets were delivered by post. Sandwich the magnets between two bits of steel to neutralise the field, then thickly bubble wrap the result. if you can't stick it to the fridge IMHO it isn't magnetic.
Pre-paid 500g baggie should cost you under $8 to post to anywhere in Australia.
PS. any number of things sent through the post contain magnets. Hard drives, for one. Model motors. Real estate calendars.
