Sparks.
Does it HAVE to be a wagon????
Look outside the picture.
The current mob of dual cab utes are now less agricultural than ever, with a canopy fitted they are as good as if not better than a wagon room wise.I recently looked at buying one.
My preference in order,Ranger XLT 3.2 auto/BT50(mazda is cheaper with a few more extras,a tad ugly),Amarock bi-turbo auto,Colarado, then wouldnt consider the rest.

I thought it was odd when looking at the Jeep range that only two models come in diesel. The lwb Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee. I will be taking the Grand Cherokee for a test drive some time.
The Pajero is cheaper and better specced than Prado because they are being replaced in 2013. Prado still has a few years to run. Plus Toyotas must be gold plated.
I've got a 2009 Prado GX manual diesel for work and I think mostly it is a great car. It only has 40k on it it and I've only put on about 13k of that so can't comment on reliability but I've had no issues.
Other than the bonnet nose trim breaking its clips and the cup holder lid needing to be pressed in exactly the right spot (which isn't where it tells you to press) there are no trim issues or squeaks etc.
Dirt road handling is great at well above the speed limit too once the centre is locked.
One thing with the Prado that is annoying looking is the 3rd row seat folds into the floor. However it is a false floor so the GXL has a higher rear floor than the GX. That is the price you pay for 150l of fuel capacity.
I've seen the MY13 specs too and it is only an update but that is not to say that the MY13.5 will not be announced as all new. The current model was released in 2006 so it is quite old.
However I'm not saying no one should buy it as the last of a model should be better than the first of a new model. Same for any car.
I was told this info by a dealer I know but online speculation seems to be all over the place.
On the fuel tank thing I was talking to a Prado owner who had a non D4D 120 series and said he needed the 180l to get as far as a 150 series could get on 150l. Just his opinion. I've got no idea on that.
Pretty sure the Challenger is a rebodied Triton. Leaf sprung solid rear axle. I currently have a MY10 Triton as a work vehicle and have previously had two Pajeros. The Triton isnt a bad vehicle but not in the same league for driving dynamics, particularly on gravel roads. I would have a Pajero over it and a Prado. The Pajero is much better value than a Prado with the deals on offer at the moment.
