I noticed something for the first time just before Christmas, when I went to pay my rego renewal for the D1, which is that it is registered as a 4cyl diesel.
I just went to get a quote for renewal, to see if any of the CTP insurers were cheaper than my current Suncorp, and then saw my renewal was a few hundred dollars cheaper. What????
In digging out the original paperwork from 2 years ago, the guy who did the roadworthy marked it on the certificate as a TDi, not a V8. But, open the bonnet, there's definitely 8 cylinders in there and I stick petrol in it every time!
I'd clearly like things to be correct, and not be in trouble with Qld Transport or the law. If I go talk to Qld Transport, you reckon they'd backdate the rego fees?

Engine no and VIN are correct on the RWC. I just no idea how he managed to mark it down as a TDi. Probably just rushing to get the paperwork done (as I was hassling him trying to get it registered before Christmas, and an imminent house move).....?Originally Posted by bee utey

My Tdi bought new in '98 was registered as a petrol with the wrong engine number,it took many emails/calls to Perth,three blue slip inspections,and more calls/trips to the inspection station to get it fixed.Even now it's got a joint station wagon/load carrier compliance plate and the engine number is a disco number because they didn't know what to register it as. SubscriberOnce had a hybrid truck that had a personality crisis. Started life as a Daihatsu, then was registered as a Dyna, converted to 4wd and a lot later I did a motor change and they used the chassis number from the original 4wd donor vehicle which was a 45 series Land cruiser. Good thing was it was never registered as a 4wd, so missed the surcharge.

Have you checked out the VIN to see what it was originally fitted with (it's coded into the VIN)?
