    Is this you? Video!

Lets lay down what was going on here. It was pouring rain visibility was poor I had 3500kg of van attached. I normally tow at 100klm/h but being sensible I was driving to the conditions I was in.

This was uphill with a very short overtaking distance the video seems to show it clearer than it was. Note the oncoming Hilux and how far he moved over to avoid an accident.

If the driver of the Land Rover in this video reads this I would like to tell you to grow a brain. You were very close to being a statistic. And you almost involved me in that statistic.

Interesting video of Moscow plane crash at the end of your horror.

Am I missing something? How come I see so many videos now of in vehicle forward facing shots? (I know it can make interesting and horrifying videos .... HORRIFIC TRUCK CRASHES - YouTube) Do you set up a camera before your trip or is just mounted all the time? For what reason, other than to capture what's happening on the roads?

In car cameras are becoming very common these days. This video was done with a BlackVue car camera it records on a constant loop on the 16gb card fitted to it. That's around 6 hours of video at 1080.

These cameras are now used by a lot of people as proof in accidents. They also have a parking mode that records on a 10 minute loop if it detects movement as in a bump or movement in its field of view it protects that 10 minute section of video.

There are"Dash cams" available that are (semi) permanent. They run full-time to document this sort of thing (and the recent road rage incident in the news).

Mowog, It always seem that the idiot that causes the accident in the first place usually gets away with it and the innocents are hurt/damaged, glad you are all safe

You can read the numberplate in the video.

I saw a piece of driving almost as good on Monday. Annoying car that had been tailgating for about 15km, I was sitting on 100 as per the speed limit, she finally overtook and promptly sat on anywhere between 95 - 105 and never really got far in front. Coming around a corner she drifted across the road with at least half the car over the other side of the road. Straight into the path of a hilux. Thankfully the guy driving the hilux swerved before the twit even saw him, and almost lost it when he hit the dirt.

We stopped in the next town and let the car get a fair amount ahead. I wasn't gonna be anywhere near her again!

My brother in the U.K. told me all the russians have them for insurance purposes because police investigation into accidents is a little ........ tired.
