so how is your new year resolution going?

I know a lot of people do not do this and this is my first year of doing it seriously.
Like many others my new year resolution is to lose weight and get healthier and fitter.
    I started a day early
so far so good but I am only on day 4.
I have been changing my diet I eat all 3 major meals and try and watch the calories.
Instead of having biscuits and chocolates for snacks, I am now having an apple or some raw nuts and I am drinking more water and more often.
I am slowing increasing my exercising everyday by adding an extra 1km until i reach 10km a day which is made up of 5km running and 5km walking, but that is a long way away yet.
so what is your new year resolution/s and how are they going?

Hey Schmierer - How many Kgs are you going for? I work from home, and my 'salvation' for not eating between meals is to brush my teeth once I've eaten what I should. Sounds stupid, but once I have brushed, I stop ratting the cupboards for nibbles! Works for me

Good luck with sticking at it.

well I weighed 85kg when i started and my first goal is to get below 80kg before I leave. I think if I keep going the way I am and increasing the exercise then I will get below 80kg.
I put on 15kg since i got back to Australia in september 2011( I know that is a lot, but mums cooking and naughty food buying has stuffed me) Ideally I would like to be 67-69kg and then put on some muscle and be about 75kg.
I am trying a set routine of meals and snacks, so when I am feeling hungry I look at the time and just say to myself just go that little bit more then I can have a snack or a meal.
I think I will try the brushing teeth method as well but just after major meals I think

I do think it is a great goal to try to improve your diet. Avoiding junk food is great. If you do feel hungry, for fast food eat a apple or two--its fast and few calories. or slices of watermelon or Rockmelon do contain extremely few calories. A good brisk walk for a half a hour each day, and you will get down below 80kg easily.

Cut out all fats except some olive oil, advocado oil, seseme oil [tahini] & nuts is my suggestion. We do need some fats/oils, but a spoonful of olive oil provides all we need. You can use it instead of butter or margarine on bread. If you put olive oil in freezer it will turn semi solid after a few days and then is more spreadable.

Wish you luck with your goal.

In reality, I have no expectation of winning one of those girls nor anyone like that, so I don't bother with resolutions.

Reminds me of a bad joke...

"Excuse me Miss, Does this rag smell like chloroform?"

My NY resolution this year is to stop making NY Resolutions so I have failed already.

But I found that in the past this was the worst time of year to try and effect change anyway.

Good luck with the Diet Tony although the Raw nuts thing sounds painful I have fond memories of including them in my diet as a snack.
