    Is HOT down south !!

    Here in Kingston, 12 km down south east from Hobart @ 3 pm on the shade in our back yard we have 37.5 In our way from the shops the gauge in the car showed 42!!!

    I just wonder today, which will be the consumption of beer on the local "water holes"
    I heard that in SA and Victoria they are doing though as well, let hope that the idiots are under control by the police.

    A mate & his missus moved from up here in QLD to Bicheno to escape the heat. Might have to phone him as temp where we are is 30.2 LOL

    Last February we moved from Moore Park Beach, Qld to here, Kingston, Tasmania to be close to the family and away from extreme weather

    34 is hot? It's 44 in Adelaide. Apparently it was 48 in Eucla yesterday. ABC news:

    The hottest place so far has been Eucla, on the Western Australian border, where it reached 48.1 degrees yesterday afternoon, its hottest day on record and 22 degrees above the summer average.
    Low humidity means its about 28C under our evaporative a/c.

    Weatherzone currently listing Port Augusta as the hottest place in Australia at present, 47.3 C
    Hobart has 40 and Birdsville is 45.3, so overall it's a rather warm day!

    Unfortunately all temperature readings are only valid where a BOM calibrated weather monitor is...

    We have a Dry and Wet bulb set up in a proper Stevenson screen and registered a nice 53c yesterday....

    The Camp Generators SCADA data also validated the intake temperature at 58c so pretty close to reality....


    We're located a little down the plateau from Coober Pedy, but damn its hotter here than up there...

    The Victorian CFA and DSE websites seem to be struggling - not responding etc.
    I saw 2 small grass fires on the side of the Western Ring road around 10am this morning, but only one had an appliance there when I went past.

    Currently 41deg with 30kt gusts - hope all the firefighters are staying safe out there...
