    Make arsonists euthanise injured animals

The New South Wales Premier has thrown his support behind an idea that would see convicted arsonists help farmers destroy animals injured in bushfires.

Do you think that these loosers care about it?
I would put them to erect fences 16 hours a day digging the holes by hand

Actually I'd prefer to see the farmers of injured animals euthanise the arsonists.

Knowing the nature of some disturbed people like arsonists, I'd be wary that they would actually get perverse pleasure in killing animals.

Make them repair the fences and re-plant trees every weekend for a year would be a better punishment.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Nup - just earth them to the electric fence for 24 hours. After that

But officer, I thought the arsonist was a bit unbalanced, so I balanced him up...!

most fires are started by kids mucking around and just dont realize how much trouble they have caused , putting down the injured live stock will cure 90% of them from lighting fires in the future and they may go on to be good aluro members

I think making them fix all the fencing, help resow all the crops and anything else their stupidity destroyed would be a good start, and I do agree a lot are kids just playing and it gets out of control this happened to a friends younger brother, he had a fire going in his parents back yard and embers set a paddock across the road 50-70m away a blaze it was just lucky the RFS were very very close by and only a couple acres went up but it could have been a lot worse, he was young 12-13 and didn't understand the consequences of his actions funnily enough he is now in the nsw fire brigade!!!

Unfortunately this generally would be incorrect, fireplay is a stage of growing up, but mostly doesn't start fires, and often is easy to uncover.

If it works even with just 1 person then it's worth it in my opinion.

I personally don't have answers for it. I'd like to see them working bloody hard at the real unpleasant tasks, but I don't know if it'd make a difference.
