    RRC/Patrol Hybrid

    Interesting build thread, RRC body and chassis with Patrol engine and running gear.

    There's some nice work there, but the thing I don't get is that he won't be using it off road... He just wants to tow with it.

    My FIL towed a 2.3 tonne boat for 15 years with mine with a stock 3.5 and LT77 gearbox, and didn't break anything so it seems a lot of work for its intended purpose.

    Although I'm guessing he will be towing a bit faster and a bit more easily...

    My take on it is... as you said, he wants to tow a bit faster/harder but 'easier' with RR ride & handling, the benefits of RRC 'meccano' body and the level of reliability and durability that the Japs - specifically Nissan - are famous for.

    And which Land Rover should have had, if they had competant management.

    has a tuff stance with the 8.5" 'hurricanes' on it!

    economy when towing would be alot better then the 3.5! well it cant get any worse!
