Stockton (or is it Cessnock) protest?
The dune area is Worimi land (not public or Crown Land) and although previously fairly accessible it has been fenced since the NPWS has taken over the control and management from the Council. Access to the dune area has always had some restrictions.
The current camping and driving restrictions have been in place since the severe storms in June 2012.
The provision of camping opportunities on the park is addressed in the Draft Plan of Management for the Worimi Conservation Lands, which is scheduled for public viewing & comment in early 2013.
Seems there is some confusion amongst the protesters as to what they are actually protesting about. To start near Stockton and then drive away to Cessnock will really get the message out - doh:clap2:!
