Over the long week end I was out and about on some tracks that had not seen a vehicle for some time. Consequently a spontaneous random modification was done to Georges snorkel. Was a plumbing special so was not too concerned. Mate had given me a piece of stainless tube some time back for a future snorkel. So brought a snorkel head and all is good now.
The only thing that still worked in the old dash was the speedo. So did a bit of a re hash with standard two inch gauges and a couple of digital volt meters. Did this a couple of weeks ago.
On the way to my long weekend adventure the forty year old headlight/ blinker combination switch on the column ceased to work in a normal manner. Kept falling into high beam and the left hand blinker would come on randomly. Some things are just not built to last. Picked up good combo switch of a series one disco and made it fit. Does not self cancel, as did the old one, so that is ok. Have now though got a hazard light switch and the light controls are in the switch lever arm.

Thats what I love about Defenders, you can build so much of yourself into them and they still look 'right'![]()
